Liverpool beats Swansea in Sunday thriller with 4:3

Liverpool beats Swansea in a Sunday thriller with 4:3 and is 4 points behind Premier League leader Chelsea FC. Can Liverpool really compete for the title this season?

Liverpool FC is back in the Premier League. After years of poor performances and questioning whether or not the club can ever return to its success of the 90s, Liverpool FC seems unstoppable this season.

On Sunday, Liverpool won a very important thriller against Swansea. The attacking qualities of Rodgers side are underlined with the fact that Liverpool is the top scoring team in the Premier League with over 70 goals scored.

Against Swansea, Sturridge and Henderson scored the early lead for the Red (2min /20min). Swanseas’s Shelvey scored the 2:1 just 3 minutes later and Bony equalized in the 27th minute, before Liverpool took the lead back in the 36th minute through Sturridge. The first half was exceptional and a treat for any football fan. Bony equalized before the half-time break in the 46th minute. Henderson finally turned the game in the 74th minute when he scored the 4:3 for the home side.

Liverpool has 11 games to go and maintain great optimism to push for a Champions League place this season, after 5 years of exile from the top European competition. However, the Merseyside team still has to face all top teams in the Premier League.

Liverpool will travel to ManUnited on March 16th, Tottenham on March 30th, ManCity on April 12th and Chelsea on April 26th.
