Jose Mourinho – the happy one returns!

In his first press conference since officially returning to Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho referred to himself as ‘the happy one’ rather than the special one.

During his first media appearance of his second spell in charge of Chelsea, Mourinho discussed how he had not been sacked when he left the club in 2007. He instead suggested that the decision was made by mutual consent and that he did not regret leaving the club when he did. The special one noted that in time he and Chelsea had been separate, both had won the Champions League, a feat he would love to achieve with Chelsea. In his first spell with the club, Jose Mourinho won five major trophies before departing for Inter Milan.

When asked to describe himself, Mourinho said that “I would describe myself as a very happy person because it’s the first time I arrive in a club where I already love the club”. He even went on to suggest that the role at Stamford Bridge was the job that he truly wanted, even more so than the previously vacant hot seat at Old Trafford. When asked about it he said: “I am where I want to be. I wouldn’t change it for anything. It is my job.”

Chelsea fans will be looking to Mourinho to bring about the success of his first spell in charge. They will also be hoping that he brings back the Champions League trophy to Stamford Bridge, a trophy he did not managed to win in his previous stint in charge of Chelsea. However he has won the Champions League with both Porto and Inter Milan.
