Jose Mourinho is new manager at Chelsea FC

As expected Jose Mourinho is back in the driver’s seat at Chelsea FC. On Monday, June 3rd the former Real Madrid manager signed a 4 year deal at the Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho will replace Rafael Benitez for the new season and signed a 4 year deal at the Stamford Bridge. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez announced Mourinho would leave the club at the end of the season by “mutual agreement” despite signing a new contract extention last year until 2016.

Mourinho was at Chelsea from 2004 to 2007 and won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups. Mourinho left in 2007 after difficulties with Roman Abramovich.

He joined Inter Milan from 2008 to 2010 where he replaced of Roberto Mancini and won the Champions League title against FC Barcelona in 2009. He moved on and became Real Madrid managerfrom 2010 to 2013 and won the Copa del Rey in 2011 and the La Liga trophy the following year.

Mourinho told Chelsea TV: “I promise exactly the same things I promised in 2004, with this difference to help – which is I’m one of you. In football, in my career I’ve had two great passions, Inter and Chelsea, and Chelsea is more than important for me.

Mourinho is known to be one of the most controversial coaches in the game, it remains to be seen how his strong views, moods and opinions get along with Abramovich vision of the club.
