Ashley Cole agreed with Chelsea on a £8million contract extension and is likely to sign the deal in the next 2 days.
According to media sources, Ashley Cole will receive £200,000 a week which will make him the highest paid defender in the world – not just the Premier League. The deal is a one-year deal worth a total of £8million with an option to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond that.
Cole was linked with moves to Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid and Manchester United. He arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2006, has won 99 caps and won one Premier League title, four FA Cups, one League Cup and one Champions League title last May.
