Premier League: Villa needs 3 crucial points against Fulham, Liverpool faces Reading on Saturday

Aston Villa faces a crucial match against Fulham on Saturday and needs 3 points to move away from the relegation zone. Liverpool travels to Reading with the mission to overtake Everton in the table.

Aston Villa vs Fulham on Saturday, April 13th at 3pm

Aston Villa go into their game against Fulham having won 3 of their last 4 games in the Premier League. Paul Lamberts side seem to have gained momentum at the right stage of the season as they look to pull themselves away from the relegation zone. A 3-1 win over Stoke City at the weekend saw the Villains leapfrog both Wigan Athletic and Sunderland in the Premier League table, whilst pulling Stoke back into the relegation battle. Villa will be hoping star striker Christian Benteke can continue his goal scoring form, having already produced 15 goals in his debut Premier League campaign. Fulham go into the game on the back of 1 defeat in 6 matches. Having gained 11 points from a possible 18, Fulham have risen to 10th in the table, all but securing their Premier League status for the 2013/14 season. Villa will have to be wary of Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov who has already scored 13 goals in his first season for Fulham since joining from Manchester United. When the two sides met earlier in the season it resulted in a 1-0 win for Fulham thanks to a late Chris Baird strike.

Reading vs Liverpool on Saturday, April 13th at 3pm

Having lost all of their last 6 Premier League matches, the league table looks bleak for Reading. The royals currently sit bottom of the table, 8 points from safety with only 6 games to go. New manager Nigel Adkins has said that his side are not giving up and will continue to battle for Premier League survival. In order to do this Reading will need top scorer Adam Le Fondre to add to his already 10 Premier League goals this season. Liverpool, on the other hand, go into the game ranked as the third most in form team in the league according to the Premier League form charts. The reds have only lost one of their last 6 games, winning four. Liverpool currently sit in 7th position, 7 points behind Arsenal in 5th and 9 points behind Tottenham in 4th. With only 6 games remaining it will be difficult for Liverpool to catch up with these teams but Brendan Rodgers’ side will continue to battle to finish as high in the league table as possible. Reading will have to keep a very close eye on current Premier League top scorer Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan striker has scored 22 goals up to now and will be looking to claim the golden boot come the end of the season. When the two sides met at Anfield earlier in the year it finished in a 1-0 victory to Liverpool thanks to a first half goal from youngster Raheem Sterling.
