Preview: Manchester United vs Everton on Sunday, February 10th

Everton will travel to Old Trafford on Sunday, February 10th to face Premier League leaders Manchester United, in what promises to be an exciting game.

The last time the two North-West sides met, Marouane Fellaini headed home the only goal of the game as the Toffees saw out a 1-0 win over the opposition. The bad news for Everton fans is that their midfield talisman and leading goalscorer may miss the trip to Manchester due to sustaining a hip problem against Aston Villa last Saturday. The Belgian will undergo a late fitness test to see if he is able to take part in the game. Everton are currently fifth in the league and are having a great season so far. They are one point ahead of Arsenal and six points ahead of Merseyside rivals Liverpool. They have only lost three games throughout the campaign so far (the same as Manchester United) and are unbeaten in seven. However, nearly half of Everton’s matches in the Premier League have resulted in draws and this has hindered further progress up the table. Manager David Moyes will be looking to turn the draws into wins and if he achieves this, then Everton will certainly be looking towards a place in the Champions League next year.

Manchester United will be looking to maintain their lead at the top of the table by winning the game on Sunday. They currently lead the rest of the teams in the league and are nine points clear of last season’s champions and city rivals Manchester City. The Red Devils have been playing exceptionally well as of late and are unbeaten in an impressive thirteen games. It can be seen that Manchester United are desperate to reclaim the title back from their rivals and they are certainly going the right way about it. Wayne Rooney has been scoring goals for fun lately and will want to add to his tally in this match. Injury-wise, there are few at United at the moment, however, Phil Jones may not play due to illness and Michael Carrick is a doubt due to a thigh injury he has picked up, but United have enough quality in depth to fill these positions.

It is safe to say that both teams have exceptional quality throughout their squads and they will be looking to carry on their great run of form. The two sides will be going all out to win the game, so expect a highly attacking end-to-end thriller – definitely not one to be missed!
