WWE World Tour

The most famous wrestling show in the world is back in Europe! The WWE returns to Europe with the WWE World Tour and its two signature shows: WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown. Wrestling superstars like CM Punk, Sheamus, The Miz, Antonio Cesaro, Big Show and Eve will stop in the UK from November 2nd to November 9th.
In 2002, the WWE decided to branch out into 2 divisions: WWE SmackDown and RAW. This meant that Wrestlers became show-exclusive and wrestled wrestling for their specific show only. WWE Raw became more commercial and more successful, because of the more dramatic storyline and because of the air time. As a result, all wrestling superstars such as Triple H, the Heartbreak Kid, Batista, Cena and Orton were WWE Raw fighters. Wrestlers in the WWE SmackDown are great wrestlers, but mostly unknown. However, since August 2011, WWE Raw wrestlers are allowed to compete in SmackDown events and the other way around which is the new Raw SuperShow format.

WWE Raw

WWE Raw is considered the original. It was created by Vince McMahon in 1993. Before, wrestling was recorded on a sound stage with small audiences, voice-overs and taped discussions. WWE Raw was different. It was aired to a live audience and featured interviews and appearances. Raw is broadcasted on USA Network in a 3 hour live format every Monday.

WWE SmackDown

WWE SmackDown was created by Vince McMahon in 1999 and currently broadcasted on Syfy. From the beginning, the show was aired on Thursday nights, but moved to Friday night in 2005. Syfy records the show on Tuesday night and airs the 2 hour format on a Friday night. Most notable WWE SmackDown fighters in the history of the show were The Rock and The Undertaker. However, as mentioned before, WWE Raw and SmackDown agreed in 2011 that fighters are allowed to compete on both shows.
WWE wrestling is not just popular because of the fights, but because of the storylines and the characters. Most fights include interviews and verbal attacks. The fighters push everything to the limit in front of an enthusiastic audience. The WWE events are a brilliant spectacle to experience. Stunt shows, martial arts and great emotions combined to one – this offers an amazing wrestling event. Be there when they say: “WWE – live from the UK!”
