Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton is scheduled to fight Senchenko in his comeback fight on 24th November at the Manchester Arena. Hatton’s comeback fight is one that is eagerly anticipated, after he was convincingly beaten in his last fight before retirement by Manny Pacquiao in 2009. Hatton has suffered from depression, drink and drugs and has been in rehab in his time away from the ring, however he will be out to prove doubters wrong when he steps into that ring for the first time in 3 years. Some have questioned the return of The Hitman, claiming it’s all about the money.
Vyacheslav Senchenko
This won’t be a stroll in the park for The Hitman, with Senchenko winning 33 out of his 32 fights in his career, his only loss coming in a ninth round stoppage against Paulie Malignaggi in April. This will be Senchenko’s second fight outside Russia and the Ukraine, where all of his fights have taken place bar one, which took place in Monaco. Hatton’s fight record is a good one, winning 45 and losing just 2. His two losses were against two of the best pound for pound fighters in the world.
Ricky Hatton
Hatton in his recent interviews has said “I don’t want to be fighting at four or six-round levels – I want to fight for world titles.” This bold sentence proves Hatton is looking to fight once again on the big stage, and could potentially meet Malignaggi in his next fight. Having beaten him once before, Hatton could be confident if he can find his old form he could win the titles he so desperately wants. The atmosphere will be electric once both fighters enter the arena in Manchester in November, the fight will dominate headlines whether he wins or loses.
