Preview: Juventus vs Bayern Munich on April 10th

Bayern needs a good performance at Juventus in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday, April 10th at the Juventus Arena.

The Bianconeri will be fighting for their lives when they meet up with the newly crowned German Champions who hold a 2-0 lead. Juventus will be going into the second leg without the suspended Stephan Lichtsteiner and Arturo Vidal due to both receiving a booking in the first leg. Juventus rested the majority of their starting Xi at the weekend and will expect Gianluigi Buffon to return in goal, while Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini are welcomed back from suspension which mean the back four that has serve the Italians so well this season will be unchanged.

Following their recent success in Germany, Bayern will be still on a high when they arrive in Turin. Javi Martinez is available again for Bayern after being suspended in the first leg, but the influencial Toni Kroos injured his adductor in Munich which means there is more than likely going to be a reshuffle in attack. It will be expected to see Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Frank Ribery leading the way for the German side. Mario Mandzukic who was rested for the weekend game against Frankfurt is likely to be recalled into the side.

Fabio Quagliarellia is the player to watch for Juventus since joining the Italian side from Napoli in 2011. Quagliarellia hasn’t been short of goals whens he’s made an appearance. The 2012/13 season has seen him tally up an impressive 12 goals in 14 starts. He might the fine line between the Italians qualifying or crashing out. On the other side, Thomas Muller has been in magnificent form this season. The 23year old attacking midfielder has definitely been a major player in terms of Bayern successfully receiving the German title. With 17 goals in 30 appearances along with 11 assists he is certainly a player to watch with his creation and determination on the field.

The Champions League semi-final draw will take place on Friday, April 12th.
