Ladbrokes World Darts Championship – Fixtures and Tickets 2013/14

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championship 2014 will take place in December with current holder and sixteen times World Champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor keen to defend his title and extend his unrivalled record in the sport. Ladbrokes World Darts Championship tickets are now available!

The hugely anticipated Tournament will start on the 13th of December and run through till the Final on the 1st of January 2014. Last year’s Championship was unsurpassed as it included two nine dart finishes and ended with an amazing Final between the master Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and the apprentice Michael Van Gerwen.

Current

As mentioned above, the undoubted king of the sport is Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor as he has won more ranking tournaments than any other player thus making him the greatest darts player of all time. He will look to add to his incredible sixteen World Titles this year and he is indeed the worthy favourite to do just that come December.

One player who will be challenging ‘The Power’ will be last year’s beaten finalist ‘Mighty Mike’ Michael Van Gerwen who is very much the young up and coming threat to Phil Taylor. The Dutchman was one dart away from firing two nine dart finishes on the trot last year, which is a truly astonishing feat in itself, so he will be aiming to avenge last years loss.

Another opponent to Phil Taylor will be his compatriot from Stoke and two times World Champion Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis, who has trained with Taylor over the years which has seen his game rise to the top thus he will be wanting another World Title.

Raymond Van Barneveld is another multiple World Champion who will be challenging Phil Taylor, he has beaten ‘The Power’ in the final of this tournament back in 2007 in what was deemed the greatest ever game of darts, so he will want to add another victory to his resume. There a numerous other quality players who could go all the way including James ‘The Machine’ Wade, Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton, Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock and Gary ‘The Flying Scotsman’ Anderson amongst many others.
