The best Basketball team in the world is back in the UK. The Harlem Globetrotters will be touring the UK from March 25th to April 2nd and will be playing in 8 arenas.
The Harlem Globetrotters are a basketball team with a difference. They are an exhibition team based in Harlem,New York. They don’t have a home ground as they tour the world showing off their skills against other basketball teams. Over their history, they have managed to play over 20,000 exhibition matches in over 120 countries. They are possibly the best known basketball team in the world.
Current
This years event is called “You Write The Rules” World Tour. This means that fans can go onto the web page of the Globetrotters and write in suggested rules they would like to see played on the tour. This most recent tour is trying to take kid participation to a new level by getting them involved with the rule changes and also giving them the opportunity to meet the players on the court after the match. There is also the opportunity to have an experience of a life time when they can spend some time on court with the Globetrotters before the game, trying out tricks and shooting and passing. The event should provide people with experiences they won’t forget, and will be the first tour that is so fan integrated.
Tour
The tour starts in January in the United States. The first tour date in the United Kingdom is scheduled for the 25th March in Birmingham at the NEC before moving on to dates at Sheffield, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Newcastle, and finally on the 2ndApril Manchester at the MEN. There are also tour dates in Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and France.
