Yesterday was the draw for the quarter-final of the German cup competition. Bayern Munich will face Borussia Dortmund in the next round at the Allianz Arena. Only third division team Offenbach will host Wolfsburg.
The last final whistle of the game Borussia Dortmund – Hannover 96 (5:1) was not even blown and the focus was already on the next round. The match was followed by the draw for the DFB Pokal quarter-finals and what a draw it was!
In the quarter final, Bayern Munich will host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. It will be one of the best games of the season 2012/13. Bayern is currently on top of the league and is 12 points ahead of Dortmund. Dortmund is 3rd in the Bundesliga, but the team of Jurgen Klopp is playing an unbelievable Champions League campaign finishing first in a group with Real Madrid and Manchester City. However, Bayern wants revenge for the 5:2 loss in the Cup final last May in Berlin.
The only third division club left in the competition is Offenbach. They will face Wolfsburg at home at Bieberer Berg. Offenbach already beat two Bundesliga teams in this year’s Cup competition – Greuther Furth (2:0) and Fortuna Dusseldorf (2:0).
The only remaining 2. Bundesilga team is VfL Bochum which beat 1860 Munich in the last round with 3:0. They will play VfB Stuttgart. The other quarter-final is between 1.FSV Mainz and SC Freiburg.
The quarter-finals will be played on February 26th /27th and certainly will be a highlight of the season
