Champions League: Dortmund confident against Malaga!

After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Borussia Dortmund and Malaga will battle it out again for a place in the semi-finals of the Champions league.

Malaga will face the difficult task of having to beat Borussia Dortmund in Germany to make it through to the final four of this year’s competition. The Spanish side made it into the quarter finals with a 2-1 aggregate win over 2004 winners Porto. Having prevented Dortmund scoring any away goals in the first leg, Malaga can go into the second leg knowing the away goals rule can only be beneficial to them. Two key players for Malaga will be Eliseu and Isco. Eliseu has scored 3 goals as well as providing 1 assist so far in this year’s competition. Isco has also scored 3 goals so far in the Champions league and has also provided 3 assists as well as this he is currently Malaga’s top goal scorer in domestic competition, having scored 8 goals in Malaga’s 2012/13 La Liga campaign that currently sees them sitting in 6th position in the league.

Dortmund will be looking to the Champion’s league as their main goal having missed out on the Bundesliga title after a disappointing domestic season that saw Bayern Munich crowned champions. Dortmund will benefit from home advantage as well as being in better form than their opposition going into the second leg of the tie. The German side made it into the last 8 of the competition after a 5-2 aggregate win against Shakhtar Donetsk. One player that Malaga will have to be wary of is Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is currently top scorer in the Bundesliga with 21 goals in 28 matches as well as being joint third top goal scorer in this year’s Champions league, having scored 5 goals.
