Bayern Munich beats Barcelona with record aggregate win and secures an all German Champions League final!

Bayern Munich beat FC Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League with 0:3 at Nou Camp and advanced to the Champions League final on May 25th at Wembley with a record 7:0 aggregate win.

FC Bayern faced a weakened Barcelona. Messi was spared the humiliation. The Argentine still suffered on an hamstring injury and watched the game from the bench. Bayern, however, dominated the game, defended well and was always dangerous with their fast counter attacks at Nou Camp. Barca wasn’t able to test Bayern keeper Neuer until the 23rd minute when Pedro volleyed over the bar.

Robber scored the Bayern lead in the 48th minute with a typical Robben drive inside and a 12 yard shot in the left corner. Pique followed with an own goal and made to Barca comeback impossible. Muller headed the final score in the 76th minute. Ribery, Robben and Muller were always dangerous for Bayern.

Jupp Heynckes said after the game: “This team really pulls together. We get through outstanding work together, and we’re tremendously hungry for success. Both games have shown we’re capable of football at a very high level. We’re playing extremely high-speed football, we’re very well organised, we’re tactically smart, we close down the space, and our transitions are functioning perfectly this season. We’re a real team, from the front to the back.”

Bayern Munich will face Borussia Dortmund in the final on May 25th at Wembley Stadium. For the first time in Champions League history are two German teams in the final. The last time a German team won the Champions League was in 2001.

Bayern fans are excited as their club receives 25,000 tickets for the final. The club already started to take orders for the highlight of the year. Each club member is allowed a maximum of 2 tickets. A fan club can get a maximum of 8 tickets. Whoever wants a tickets will be decided in a ballot.
