Baltimore Ravens win the 47th Super Bowl!

The Baltimore Ravens win the 47th Super Bowl with 34:31 against the San Francisco 49ers at the Superdome in New Orleans.

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win the Superbowl by 34 points to 31 in an entertaining encounter. The Ravens stormed into an early lead with touchdowns from Boldin and Pitta as the Ravens quarter back, Flaco, found his rhythm a lot quicker than the 49ers quarter back. San Francisco went into the break 21-6 but the first half seemed to be just a warm up.

The 49ers couldn’t have dreamt a worst start in the second half as Jacoby James returned a 109 yard field kick to extend the Ravens lead. Soon after there was a power serge which saw the stadium plummet into darkness only for play to resume half an hour later. The power serge did the Ravens no good, as the 49ers took control and the comeback looked possible. Two quick touchdowns from Crabtree and Gore brought the 49ers to 28-20 down, with the fourth quarter still to play.

Following an exchange of different field goals, the 49ers looked almost certain to post the biggest comeback of Super Bowl history as quarterback Colin Kaepernick scored from 15 yards out to bring the score to 34-28 deep in the fourth quarter. In the end the comeback was just out of the reach for the 49ers, as the Ravens ran down the clock and won their second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Beyonce and Destiny’s Child wowed everyone with their Super Bowl halftime show. Beyonce started performing “Love on Top,” “Crazy in Love,” “End of Time,” and “Baby Boy” before she was joined by Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. The trio sang “Bootylicious” and worked through “Independent Woman” before collaborating on “Single Ladies.”
