Arsenal FC: Arsène Wenger needs to adjust his philosophy and add quality players during the January transfer window

Arsène Wenger needs to adjust his philosophy and add quality players during the January transfer window. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Demba Ba and Wilfried Zaha are on the list and also a short-term return of Thierry Henry.

Arsenal FC is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League having won 13 Premier League titles and 10 cups. The Emirates Stadium is one of the most exciting stadiums in the league since Arsenal moved in 2006. Arsène Wenger was appointed in 1996 and his philosophy, training regime and tactics where cutting edge. He was a major reason for one of the clubs most successful era’s in the late 90’s when he led the Invisibles to the 2003/04 Premier League title without losing a game. When Wenger arrived in 1996, he made a difference and his philosophy was to develop young players.

Today, Arsenal is 7th in the Premier League with 15 points short of Manchester United and just lost to Bradford City in the Capital One Cup. Time has changed and Arsène Wenger needs to adjust his philosophy with the needs of the club. For the last 3 seasons, Arsenal didn’t have a squad to compete for the Premier League title despite the additions of Podolski and Giroud. However, Arsenal needs experienced and proven players that can push the Arsenal squad into the top 4 again.

Arsène Wenger will have to adjust his philosophy and reinforce the quality of his squad. It is crucial to add players in the January transfer window such as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Demba Ba and Wilfried Zaha. It is also rumored that Thierry Henry will make a second short-term return.

The next weeks will be tough for Arsenal facing Reading, Wigan, West Ham and Newcastle this month.
