Six Nations: Ireland vs England on Sunday, February 10th

England will play in the last fixture of the second weekend’s gameplay when they come up against Ireland on the only Sunday game with the build-up starting around 2.30 pm GMT. Both teams will be trying to build on their opening match day success as they both recorded wins to kick off their Six Nations tournament.

After a thrilling opening set of fixtures, this weekend will see the second round of games played in the RBS Six Nations tournament. There was certainly a few eye brows raised when Italy who at the beginning of the championship were seen to have no chance at all, recorded a famous and shock 23-18 win over joint pre-tournament favourites France. Rugby fans will be enthusiastic about the weekend coming up and looking forward to it to see if any more shocks will unfold, see if France recover or can England capitalize on the French’s first match downfall.

The Irish didn’t have far to travel, just crossing the waters to the British Isles to face off against Wales to begin their campaign. And what a start they had, despite Wales being pre match favourites it was Ireland who came out on top, winning the match by 8 points as they ran out 22-30 winners.

England on the other hand was hosts for their start to the championship as they welcomed Scotland to Twickenham stadium. Going into the match as the tournament favourites, the English were expected to achieve victory over Scotland. And that they did. England recorded a comfortable 38-18 win, which was the highest margin victory from the opening weekend, exactly 20 points.

However, the tables will turn this Sunday as it will be England who has to travel across the waters to Ireland, as the Irish will have the first chance to play hosts to the tournament favourites by taking them on at their home ground the Aviva Stadium.

Can Ireland overcome the odds again? Will England strengthen their title bid for the championship? Will the sides tie and both remain undefeated?
