England will face Brazil in an international friendly on Wednesday, February 6th at Wembley.
The international friendly against Brazil will be a special game for Ashley Cole who will earn his 100th international cap. Cole is only the 7th England player to 100 caps. Stuart Pearce said: “In my mind, he’s the best left-back that’s ever played for England. That’s a fact, in my eyes.”
England national manager Roy Hodgson will miss Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge because of ankle and thigh injuries as well as midfielder Michael Carrick. However, he is positive and said: “We think it’s a great way to start 2013 and our 150th anniversary, and we’ll be doing our best to play well and get a good result, but finally for me it’s a question of knowing by March what our best team is and what players play best together.”
The game against Brazil will be a warm-up for England’s two World Cup qualifiers in March against San Marino and Montenegro. However, England will face a strong Brazil side with Ronaldinho, Neymar and 4 Premier League players in their squad.
