Preview: Crystal Palace Vs Arsenal on Saturday, 26th October

26.10.2013 This London derby could prove to be to an interesting affair this Saturday lunchtime, as both teams, fighting at opposite ends of the table look to get back to winning ways at Selhurst Park.

It’s been a disappointing week for Palace, which saw them thrashed 4-1 at home by other capital neighbours Fulham on Monday night, and subsequently say a reluctant goodbye to manager Ian Holloway. Whilst the media and fans alike speculate who’s the right man to steer their season around, manager Keith Millen and his players will be fully focused on trying to get result against the league leaders. With one win all season and no points in their last five, Millen’s men are up against it, and will be hoping for a cup-tie atmosphere at Selhurst to possibly cause a shock.

Arsenal too suffered disappointment midweek, as the Gunner’s twelve match unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end, at the hands of Borrusia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Arsene Wenger and his team will look to put that behind them this weekend, as they to look to continue their impressive domestic display. Last week’s performance against Norwich was that of a spectacular nature, and should they play the same scintillating football this weekend, you would assume they would no problems coming away with all three points from this fixture.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams in 9 seasons, the last of which came in February 2005, where Arsenal ran out convincing 5-1 winners. The last meeting between these two at Selhurst Park ended in a 1-1 draw in November 2004, and Palace fans will be hoping for a similar result come Saturday.
