Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich’s sensational 7-0 aggregate triumph over Barcelona standing out during their run to the Final, with the comfortable two legged victory over Italian Champions Juventus also of note. Bayern Munich have just claimed the Bundesliga title in Germany with six games to spare and as such dethroning their Final opponents in the process, they have a wealth of world class players including Dutch Flyer Arjen Robben, Frenchman Franck Ribery, and Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic amongst a host of German Internationals, including Captain Philipp Lahm. In addition to winning the German title in the shortest time period in German football history, Bayern Munich are also in the final of the German Cup, so are aiming to create more history by capturing a momentous treble.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund’s route to the final has also been impressive, with their character and determination shown in abundance during their victories over Spanish sides Malaga and Real Madrid. The last season’s Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund have quality players of their own in Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose four first leg goals proved enough for the Germans to go through against Real in the semi-final. They can also call upon Marco Reus, and Bayern Munich bound midfielder Mario Gotze, whom they hope will be fit in time for the final.

Wembley Stadium

The match is to be staged at London’s Wembley Stadium and is an iconic theatre in which to stage Europe’s showpiece Final. Both teams will take great satisfaction in playing at Wembley as it is such a historical arena throughout World Football.
